Instagrammers, How do you do it?

I just debuted on Instagram- a few months back and had a generation gap like a shock. I mean Wow!! and How??

This happened when I stumbled upon the first few profiles having a crazy fan following and how they just became somebody from a nobody in a short span.

I followed them and started consuming content, scrolling in anticipation that the scroll will reach its end but it never did. Instead, I found thousands more profiles just like the above ones.

Majorly profiles that found and attracted me were kind of “Solo Travelling”, “Quitting the corporate to travel”, “Trekking and climbing what not with 3-year-olds”, and “Raising kids” (I have a 6 yol, only that’s why)

Then there is a big section of Instagram that belongs to Mommies!! Montessori education, HomeSchooling, How to respect your kids!! , How you have done a sin when you shout at your kids, and infinite other things about raising kids.

I am not able to justify here the kind of 6 years old that I see on Instagram, Those kids I must tell you have read more than what all of us (90’s kids?) read in their childhood. The kind of stuff that they do can also blow your mind.

My kid before I debuted, had a decent collection of books on his bookshelf ranging from story books, mysteries, and lots on animals and nature in general. I usually got the reference scrolling through Amazon and the reviews in general.

But today, his bookshelf is overflowing with lots many projects, art and craft, and books to read!! He is overjoyed of course but I have lost track of my spending. The spiral effect you see! The only thing that has remained the same though is the limited daytime his mother has! Instagram could not change that...

So yes we end up shouting and negotiating over what activity to do and which book to read and my kid after playing with one forgets about that instantly! Finally, I have come to my senses and have decided to order a fixed number of items in a month and keep else on a list.

Let’s move on to another touchy section — Leaving Corporate for Travel.

This one hit me emotionally. I always dream of travelling solo and just travelling. People just doing that always inspire me. They also have these posts on “Follow your passion”, “Consistency”, and “SelfLove” — the three golden rules to change your life track.

Over in all, Instagram can be a real-time burner, So despite inspiring it can delay one’s work and decrease productivity.

Off late, I have also started to observe the amount of effort it shall take to put content out there. Endless tools, Editing, Those camera angles, and freaky poses to get that one worthy post.

It seems Travelling is just not Travelling

It is Travelling + Editing +Capturing Every time + Posting + Engaging + Promotions. And all of these may equal Enjoyment + Money + Fame

#Cheers
